In preparation for the Rugby World Cup, the Ireland squad has resumed preseason training.

The Ireland rugby squad has commenced pre-season training ahead of their summer tour, which includes Test matches against Georgia on July 5 and Portugal on July 12. Interim head coach Paul O’Connell has named a 32-man squad, featuring 11 uncapped players, to provide an opportunity for emerging talents to showcase their skills .

Munster scrum-half Craig Casey will captain the squad, marking a significant milestone in his career . The squad also includes players like Alex Kendellen, Paddy McCarthy, and Hugh Gavin, who have impressed at the provincial level and are eager to make their mark on the international stage .

The team is set to gather for a training camp in Dublin on June 23 before departing for Tbilisi on July 2 . This tour provides a valuable opportunity for the coaching staff to assess player performances and build depth ahead of future international competitions.
