Former UFC champion Conor McGregor is said to be recovering after a serious car accident in the early hours of Tuesday morning near his Dublin home, according to sources close to the fighter.
Witnesses reported that McGregor’s black Lamborghini SUV veered off a rural road after reportedly swerving to avoid a delivery van. The car spun across the wet pavement before coming to rest against a roadside barrier. Emergency services arrived within minutes, and McGregor was treated at the scene for minor injuries before being transported to a nearby hospital for observation.
A representative for McGregor, who requested anonymity, stated that the 37-year-old “escaped with only bruises and a few cuts,” calling it “a miracle” given the damage to the vehicle.
Locals described the crash as “violent” but credited McGregor’s quick reflexes for preventing a worse outcome. “It looked bad — the car was wrecked on one side, but he walked out under his own power,” one witness said.
Later in the morning, McGregor allegedly shared a message to fans through his private social channels:
“Grateful to be alive. The car can be replaced — I can’t. Thank you all for the love.”
Police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway but stated that no alcohol or reckless driving is suspected at this stage.
McGregor, who has been training for a rumored return to the Octagon in 2026, is expected to make a full recovery.
