Lorenzo Brown has openly discussed his evolving role at Panathinaikos, acknowledging the challenges of adapting to a team with multiple ball-dominant guards. After a standout season with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he averaged 13.2 points and 6.1 assists per game, his transition to Panathinaikos has been marked by a shift in responsibilities. In Athens, Brown’s ball-handling duties have decreased, with the 34-year-old guard handling the ball approximately 30% of the time, compared to a more prominent role at Maccabi .

Reflecting on his current position, Brown expressed a sense of adjustment, stating, “I’m adjusting and trying to contribute as much as I can.” He also highlighted the team’s depth and the challenge of fitting into a system with several high-caliber guards, noting, “I’ve never been on a team with as many ball-dominant guards” .

Despite these adjustments, Brown remains committed to his role with Panathinaikos, emphasizing his focus on the team’s success and his three-year contract. He mentioned, “Who knows what will happen, but I have a three-year contract here, and I’m focused on next year” .
