47 individuals are hurt in a car crash in Liverpool Parade.

On May 26, 2025, a tragic incident occurred during Liverpool FC’s Premier League victory parade when a car drove into a crowd on Water Street in Liverpool city centre, injuring 47 people. The incident took place shortly after 6 p.m., just minutes after the open-top bus carrying the football team had passed through the area. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle accelerated deliberately into the crowd, causing chaos and panic among the thousands of fans present .

Among the injured, 27 individuals were hospitalized, including four children, with two victims—one of whom is a child—reported to be in serious condition. Emergency services responded swiftly, rescuing four people who were trapped under the vehicle .

Merseyside Police arrested a 53-year-old white British man from Liverpool at the scene. The incident is not being treated as a terrorist act, and no other suspects are being sought .

The Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, condemned the “appalling” scenes and expressed solidarity with the victims and the people of Liverpool. Liverpool FC and other political leaders also expressed their condolences and support for the victims and emergency responders
