Hertha’s 26-year Nike kit deal end

Hertha BSC’s longstanding partnership with Nike, which began in 1999, is set to conclude at the end of the 2024–25 season, marking the end of a 26-year collaboration. This decision aligns with Nike’s strategic shift to focus on top-tier football clubs, leading to a reduction in sponsorships of mid-level teams like Hertha BSC .
In commemoration of this enduring partnership, Hertha BSC and Nike have released a special “XXVI Legacy Jersey.” This jersey features a collage of elements from various iconic Hertha kits over the past decades, symbolizing the highs and lows experienced together. The team debuted this tribute jersey during the warm-up for their home match against Greuther Fürth on May 4, 2025 .
Looking ahead, British sportswear brand Castore will become Hertha BSC’s new kit supplier starting from the 2025–26 season. The initial agreement is valued at €1 million per season, with the potential to increase to €2 million annually if Hertha secures promotion back to the Bundesliga. This new deal represents a decrease from the €2–3 million per year that Hertha previously received from Nike .
Castore, founded in 2015, has been expanding its presence in European football, supplying kits for clubs in England, Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany. Notably, they have partnered with clubs like Bayer Leverkusen and 1. FC Kaiserslautern .
While some fans have expressed concerns regarding Castore’s kit quality and supply issues, particularly referencing Bayer Leverkusen’s early termination of their contract with the brand , others are optimistic about the fresh designs and new chapter this partnership could bring to Hertha BSC.
As Hertha BSC embarks on this new era with Castore, fans eagerly anticipate the unveiling of the new kits and hope for a successful collaboration that honors the club’s rich history while embracing future opportunities.
