TRANSFER : Barcelona want Liverpool Forward Luis Diaz

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has publicly expressed admiration for Liverpool winger Luis Díaz, stating, “We like him,” amid renewed transfer links between the Colombian international and the Catalan club. This interest aligns with Barcelona’s ongoing efforts to strengthen their squad following a successful season that included winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup .
Díaz, 28, has had a productive season with Liverpool, recording 13 goals and 7 assists in the Premier League, along with notable performances in the Champions League. Despite his contributions, he has reportedly declined a contract extension from Liverpool, signaling a potential openness to a move. His current contract runs until 2027, and his market value is estimated at €85 million .
Barcelona’s financial constraints, particularly concerning La Liga’s Financial Fair Play regulations, pose challenges to any potential transfer. The club would need to manage its wage bill carefully to accommodate a high-profile signing like Díaz .
Liverpool’s stance appears firm, with manager Arne Slot emphasizing that Díaz remains a key part of the team’s future plans. Slot stated, “His future is with us because I like a lot what I’ve seen,” underscoring the club’s intention to retain the winger .
While Díaz has previously expressed contentment at Liverpool, his father’s comments about his son’s dream to play for Barcelona have added fuel to the speculation. However, as of now, no official offers have been made, and the situation remains fluid as the summer transfer window approaches
