 Kilmarnock confirms that the winger is leaving Rugby Park after four years.

Kilmarnock FC has confirmed that winger Danny Armstrong has departed the club following the expiration of his contract, marking the end of a four-year tenure at Rugby Park. Armstrong, 26, has been a key figure for Kilmarnock, amassing nearly 150 appearances since joining from Raith Rovers in 2021. Despite the club’s efforts to retain him, Armstrong declined a new contract offer .

Manager Derek McInnes expressed the club’s disappointment over Armstrong’s decision, acknowledging the significant effort made to keep him. He emphasized that Armstrong’s commitment to the team remained unquestioned during his tenure .

Following Armstrong’s departure, Kilmarnock is undergoing a substantial squad overhaul under new manager Stuart Kettlewell, who succeeded Derek McInnes after he left to manage Hearts. The club has announced the release of 15 players, including club captain Kyle Vassell, key players Liam Donnelly and Joe Wright, as well as promising youngster Bobby Wales, who has already secured a move to Swansea. Other players leaving include goalkeeper Kieran O’Hara, Innes Cameron, Kyle Magennis, Fraser Murray, and former Celtic title-winner Gary Mackay-Steven. Additionally, young talents Aaron Brown and Aidan Glavin are also departing .

Armstrong’s next destination remains uncertain, but he has been linked with clubs in both Scotland and England, with Hearts previously expressing interest in acquiring him
