Following the Pollock incident, Bordeaux’s prop was suspended.

Union Bordeaux-Bègles prop Jefferson Poirot has been handed a two-week suspension following an altercation involving Northampton Saints flanker Henry Pollock during the Champions Cup final on May 24, 2025. The incident occurred in the final moments of the match, which Bordeaux won 28–20, securing their first major trophy.
The altercation reportedly began after a dispute between Northampton captain Fraser Dingwall and Bordeaux’s Matthieu Jalibert. Several Bordeaux players, including Poirot, were alleged to have joined the fracas. Northampton’s coaching staff condemned the conduct and called for an investigation into the matter. Fly-half Fin Smith suggested that Bordeaux players were agitated by Pollock during the game, questioning why they would instigate conflict after a major victory.
The suspension of Poirot underscores the ongoing scrutiny of player conduct in high-stakes matches and the commitment to maintaining discipline and sportsmanship in European rugby.
