Man Utd transfers: The second summer acquisition will be from Ruben Amorim’s three-man shortlist

Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has reportedly submitted a three-player shortlist to the club’s board as part of his plans to overhaul the squad this summer. According to TEAMtalk, Amorim has identified Sporting CP trio Gonçalo Inácio, Marcus Edwards, and Pedro Gonçalves as key targets for the upcoming transfer window .
Amorim’s Three-Man Transfer Shortlist
Gonçalo Inácio (Centre-Back)
The 23-year-old Portuguese defender is viewed as a potential replacement for Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelöf, both of whom are expected to depart Old Trafford. With a release clause of €60 million (£51 million), Inácio has been linked with several top clubs, including Liverpool .
Marcus Edwards (Winger)
The former Tottenham Hotspur player has been in impressive form for Sporting, contributing 18 goals and 17 assists last season. Edwards is seen as a potential replacement for Antony, who may be sold or loaned out in January .
Pedro Gonçalves (Attacking Midfielder/Winger)
Known as “Pote,” Gonçalves is considered a vital player by Sporting’s hierarchy. While Amorim has a strong relationship with him, securing a move for Gonçalves could be challenging due to Sporting’s reluctance to sell mid-season .
These targets align with Amorim’s tactical vision, emphasizing a dynamic and versatile attacking setup. The club’s pursuit of these players underscores their commitment to rebuilding the squad and returning to competitive form.
