Rodri frist match for Man City after eight months out

Rodri made his long-awaited return for Manchester City on May 20, 2025, in a 3–1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium. This marked his first appearance since suffering a serious ACL and meniscus injury on September 22, 2024, during a match against Arsenal .
Entering the match in the 83rd minute, Rodri was met with a standing ovation from the home crowd. His return was a significant boost for City, who had struggled in his absence, falling out of the Champions League qualification spots. The match also served as a farewell to club legend Kevin De Bruyne, adding to the emotional atmosphere .
Rodri’s comeback is timely, as Manchester City aims to secure a top-four finish and prepare for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in June. Additionally, his return is good news for the Spanish national team ahead of the Nations League next month
