Florian Wirtz, a forward for Bayer Leverkusen, offered Bid by Liverpool.
Liverpool have made a club-record £109 million (€130 million) bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s 22-year-old attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, signaling their intent to bolster their squad under manager Arne Slot. This offer comes as part of a broader squad overhaul, including the confirmed £10 million transfer of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid .
Leverkusen have set a €150 million valuation for Wirtz, but reports suggest that Liverpool are optimistic about reaching a compromise. Wirtz has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Liverpool, and key rivals Manchester City and Bayern Munich have withdrawn from the race. Bayern’s president confirmed that Wirtz favors a move to Liverpool, with negotiations aided by a recent visit from his parents to the UK .
Wirtz has been a standout performer for Leverkusen, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists during the 2024/25 season, helping the club finish second in the Bundesliga. He has made 197 appearances for the club, tallying 57 goals and 65 assists .
The proposed transfer would be the largest between a Premier League and Bundesliga club, surpassing the amount Chelsea paid for Kai Havertz. Liverpool are also pursuing Jeremie Frimpong in a £30 million deal and targeting Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as a left-back reinforcement, valued at £45 million .
