The Inter Milan coach left the team to sign with the Saudi team.

Simone Inzaghi has officially parted ways with Inter Milan to become the new head coach of Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal. The decision follows a lucrative two-year contract offer reportedly worth €50 million, significantly higher than his current salary at Inter. Inzaghi, who led Inter to two UEFA Champions League finals and a Serie A title during his tenure, will begin his new role with Al Hilal at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup .
Despite Inter’s efforts to retain him, including a meeting with club president Giuseppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio, Inzaghi opted for the challenge in Saudi Arabia. His departure marks the end of a four-year period at Inter, during which he achieved notable successes but also faced criticism .
Al Hilal’s ambitious strategy includes strengthening their squad for the Club World Cup, where they will face teams like Real Madrid. Inzaghi’s appointment is part of this broader plan to enhance the club’s competitiveness on the global stage .
Inter Milan is now in search of a new head coach, with Cesc Fàbregas, currently managing Como, emerging as a leading candidate. Other potential replacements include Roberto De Zerbi, Patrick Vieira, and Cristian Chivu .
