TRANSFER : ‘Napoli ready to close De Bruyne deal

Kevin De Bruyne is on the verge of leaving Manchester City after a decade of success, and Napoli are emerging as strong contenders to secure his signature. The Serie A leaders have been actively pursuing the Belgian midfielder, who becomes a free agent at the end of the 2024–25 season.
Napoli’s Proposal
Napoli are reportedly offering De Bruyne a two-year contract with an option for a third, along with an annual salary of €6 million. While this is less than offers from MLS and Saudi clubs, the appeal lies in continued Champions League football and a competitive European environment. Napoli are also leveraging De Bruyne’s relationship with fellow Belgian Romelu Lukaku, who is already at the club.
Family Considerations
De Bruyne’s wife, Michèle, was recently seen house-hunting in Naples, suggesting the family is seriously considering the move. The De Bruynes have a history with the city, having vacationed there and even married in nearby Sorrento.
Competing Offers
While Napoli are in advanced talks, other clubs are also in the mix. MLS side Chicago Fire have shown interest, offering a more flexible playing schedule that could appeal to De Bruyne as he plans for the 2026 World Cup. However, De Bruyne has ruled out joining another Premier League club, despite reported interest from Liverpool.
Napoli appear to be in a strong position to sign Kevin De Bruyne, offering a competitive European platform and a familiar environment for his family. While no official announcement has been made, the signs point toward a move to Naples for the Belgian star.
